Come join our team of passionate, devoted professionals with a wealth of experience in serving the birth to three population within natural environments, where children play and learn best.
On the job training is organized to help you learn and implement evidenced based practices for this age group, as well as achieve fidelity in use of the coaching model. There is no better way to serve families of young children with developmental delays or disabilities, than through an established Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) Program. For over 30 years, ECI in Texas has developed a unique advantage in helping children and families. Combining the specialties of team members in service coordination, specialized skills training, and therapy to evaluate, plan and intervene with families helps to meet the multiple needs often present in this population.
Early Intervention truly means early. Our teams work with community resources to encourage referrals to the program as soon as a need is identified, which may be immediately after birth. Our goal upon receiving a referral is to evaluate and develop a plan for the child as quickly as possible in order to expedite intervention. Best of all, we coach families in ways to help their child every day! Coaching families to incorporate intervention strategies into their daily routines results in empowered parents and caregivers who are better equipped to ensure their child’s developmental trajectory continues on a positive path.
Helen Farabee Centers’ ECI Program is committed to helping you learn and grow in your chosen discipline, as well as supporting your continuing education. The strategies and tools you acquire while working in an ECI Program will help you in any pediatric field of practice. A better understanding of the early lives of children from diverse backgrounds leads to a more informed practitioner. As you work within teams, you are afforded the opportunity to share your expertise and perspective with other professionals as well as family members to provide help where families indicate it is most needed. You learn to meet the challenge of problem-solving with families and team members to ensure all perspectives are considered and incorporated.
Studies indicate that children who participate in high-quality early intervention programs tend to have:
• Less need for special education and other remedial work;
• Greater language abilities;
• Improved nutrition and health; and experienced less child abuse and neglect.
Working for Helen Farabee Center’s ECI Program provides rewarding work, opportunities for support and collaboration with professionals of varied disciplines, professional development opportunities, an interesting and exciting work environment, and a flexible schedule.
Do you want to make a difference in the lives of families and young children with developmental delays or disabilities? If so, Helen Farabee Centers’ ECI is the place for you.
